Basic Cabbage Salsa

This is a staple in our home. It is great as a topping for tacos, bbq pork/ beef sandwiches, salmon cakes, eggs, etc...

I get more compliments on this cabbage salsa than anything else I make. Even my kids have asked for the recipe.

This is the most simple addition liven up any dish. If you're not a fan of heat no problem just leave out the jalapeño. And if you like it more spicy use your favorite hot pepper in place of or in addition to the jalapeño! You are sure to get lots of compliments and it's so simple it feels like cheating.

Basic Cabbage Salsa

Ingredients

  • ½ of a small to medium sized green cabbage, stem removed and very thinly sliced

  • 1 bunch cilantro, finely chopped

  • 1 1/2- 2 limes juiced

  • 1 large jalapeño or hot pepper of choice, stem and seeds removed and minced

  • 2 tsp cumin

  • garlic salt and pepper to taste

Directions

  1. Add all ingredients to a large mixing bowl and toss well.

  2. Serve with tacos, fajitas, eggs, bbq pork/ beef/ chicken, eggs, chips, etc...
