A repeat of history?

There is an awesome story in 2 Chronicles 13 that I want to share with you. I just can't help but feel like it is a reflection of this moment we are currently living in. Sometimes it is almost painful to read through the old testament knowing the full story and seeing the people doing the same thing over and over only to realize it never stopped. Even now, in our modern history, we have repeated the same cycles as we see in the old testament. We have given new names and labels to ruling authorities and false gods and carry out our actions in ways that we would call more civilized but it is the same theme over and over again. Let me share the scriptures and then I will explain what I mean.

Before we jump into it I want to lay out a little of the back story. I highly encourage you to read through 1 Kings 8-12 to get more of the details but for now I'll just lay out a brief summary so you can better grasp of what I am presenting here. So we have King David who scripture calls, "a man after God's own heart". Though his days were spent in battle and fleeing the wrath of his father in law, King Saul, his heart was to build a temple for the Lord. God had told him that he would not be the one to build it but his son Solomon would. When Solomon entered into power, scripture says that his father had positioned him for a time of peace and prepared everything necessary to build the temple. Solomon started out loving the Lord. He built the temple and led the people in the ways of the Lord. He had a love for women though that eventually took the place of his love for the Lord. He married women that God had commanded his people to not marry and ended up building temples to their gods and leading the people into rebellion and sin against the Lord. Because of this God told Solomon that He would take the kingdom from his son who would reign in his place and give it to his servant. Shortly thereafter Rehoboam, Solomon's son took power and offended all of Israel outside of Jerusalem and they went their own way and made Jeroboam king over them. There was constant war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam and both did evil in the sight of the Lord and led the people into sin against the Lord. Jeroboam though cast out all of the priests of the Lord and the Levites setting in their place priests of false gods and created golden calves as their gods. The Levites all went to Jerusalem to live and worship the Lord in the temple. Then we have Abijah, the son of Rehoboam and that is where we are going to begin.

Lets go to 2 Chronicles 13: 3-20

3 Abijah set the battle in order with an army of valiant warriors, four hundred thousand choice men. Jeroboam also drew up in battle formation against him with eight hundred thousand choice men, mighty men of valor.

4 Then Abijah stood on Mount Zemaraim, which is in the mountains of Ephraim, and said, “Hear me, Jeroboam and all Israel: 5 Should you not know that the Lord God of Israel gave the dominion over Israel to David forever, to him and his sons, by a covenant of salt? 6 Yet Jeroboam the son of Nebat, the servant of Solomon the son of David, rose up and rebelled against his lord. 7 Then worthless rogues gathered to him, and strengthened themselves against Rehoboam the son of Solomon, when Rehoboam was young and inexperienced and could not withstand them. 8 And now you think to withstand the kingdom of the Lord, which is in the hand of the sons of David; and you are a great multitude, and with you are the gold calves which Jeroboam made for you as gods. 9 Have you not cast out the priests of the Lord, the sons of Aaron, and the Levites, and made for yourselves priests, like the peoples of other lands, so that whoever comes to consecrate himself with a young bull and seven rams may be a priest of things that are not gods? 10 But as for us, the Lord is our God, and we have not forsaken Him; and the priests who minister to the Lord are the sons of Aaron, and the Levites attend to their duties. 11 And they burn to the Lord every morning and every evening burnt sacrifices and sweet incense; they also set the showbread in order on the pure gold table, and the lampstand of gold with its lamps to burn every evening; for we keep the command of the Lord our God, but you have forsaken Him. 12 Now look, God Himself is with us as our head, and His priests with sounding trumpets to sound the alarm against you. O children of Israel, do not fight against the Lord God of your fathers, for you shall not prosper!”

13 But Jeroboam caused an ambush to go around behind them; so they were in front of Judah, and the ambush was behind them. 14 And when Judah looked around, to their surprise the battle line was at both front and rear; and they cried out to the Lord, and the priests sounded the trumpets. 15 Then the men of Judah gave a shout; and as the men of Judah shouted, it happened that God struck Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah. 16 And the children of Israel fled before Judah, and God delivered them into their hand. 17 Then Abijah and his people struck them with a great slaughter; so five hundred thousand choice men of Israel fell slain. 18 Thus the children of Israel were subdued at that time; and the children of Judah prevailed, because they relied on the Lord God of their fathers.

19 And Abijah pursued Jeroboam and took cities from him: Bethel with its villages, Jeshanah with its villages, and Ephrain[b] with its villages. 20 So Jeroboam did not recover strength again in the days of Abijah; and the Lord struck him, and he died.

Now if you read on in 1 Kings you will see that Abijah (Abijam) followed in the footsteps of his father and did not serve the Lord other than what we read in 2 Chronicles 13. So in our modern day we would call him an unbeliever but God used him and did a great work through him in this story. So basically we have 2 kings here that are both fighting for power over all of Israel and Judah. On one side you have Abijah, the man whom God had promised through a covenant into power and the other Jeroboam, a man who the offended people in rebellion put into power. Neither one of them were great God fearing men. Abijah recognized the Lord and allowed and supported the priests of the Lord to worship and do all that God had commanded them to do. Jeroboam on the other hand cast them out and built up false gods not even allowing the worship of the Lord. Abijah is publicly declaring who God set them to be and the other is sneaking around back to try to take them by surprise.

Now let me show you what the Lord showed me. Please hear me out and don't get offended as I make a modern comparison between these 2 characters of old and our present day "kings" vying for power over our nation, Trump and Biden. Neither one of them great God fearing men by biblical standards. There are MANY prophesies by God fearing men and women with a tract records of speaking truth about Trump being raised up to lead our nation. I have heard 1 prophesy of Biden by a questionable person who claims to love the Lord but I have no idea what if any other prophesies of this person have come to pass. Biden and the party platform he stands on has publicly removed the name of our Lord from their platform and the Pledge of Allegiance. They have raised up LGBTQ and "women's rights" celebrating child sacrifice (abortion) as idols that cannot be questioned or denied. As God fearing, bible believing men and women we are not allowed to reject these idols or the love of them for ourselves. We are not even allowed to preach the Word of God about these issues. Under the previous administration we have seen an attack on churches, people and businesses that chose not to take part in these things (not being ugly or hateful at all but just choosing to stand on their biblical values for themselves). As we've seen the past 9 months in Democratic run states churches have been forced closed while abortion clinics have been called essential. Even worship has been banned! Under Trumps administration Christian children have been given protections while at school to pray and to practice their religion. Religious freedoms have been more supported and protected under His administration than any other in my life time. He has defended our Jewish brothers and sisters, moving the embassy to Jerusalem and creating peace between Israel and surrounding nations. While Biden has publicly refused to speak the name of God and his supporters publicly pronounce that Jesus is not the only way to God, Trump has many times publicly declared that we are a Christian nation and one nation under God. Many people (including myself at times) say that he is pompous and self absorbed with the way he speaks about himself and our nation. BUT, when you think about it he is really speaking life over himself and our country. When he says that this is the greatest nation he is projecting and putting voice to what he is seeing in the spirit (whether he realizes that or not doesn't matter, it is how God is using him). Trump is constantly declaring life over America. "Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit."- Prov. 18:21

Ok I'm just going to stop there because there is something better in these scriptures above. So as Abijah is declaring who their God is and the order of God the enemy sneaks around back but lets read vs 14 and 15 again. "14 And when Judah looked around, to their surprise the battle line was at both front and rear; and they cried out to the Lord, and the priests sounded the trumpets. 15 Then the men of Judah gave a shout; and as the men of Judah shouted, it happened that God struck Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah." Do you see it church? This is a But God, but the church moment. Right now a couple days before the election is our moment church. Trump is campaigning and proclaiming and Biden is sneaking around back with craftiness BUT GOD, BUT THE CHURCH. There has always been a remnant and there still is. So as churches have kept their doors closed and locked up tight, as believers have hid in their homes, the remnant has been mobilizing and growing! Right now as I type I am listening to the As One Rally being held in our nations capitol. They are right now crying out to the Lord, sounding the trumpets, and they are shouting! In fact this same kind of thing has been happening for months all over the U.S. and I believe right now the enemy is being defeated. Confusion has entered the devils camp and disrupted the enemies plans against this nation. It is important to vote and not avoid politics but don't forget God. Don't be so caught up it the declaration that you miss the trumpet sounding. And be dang sure that you are not sneaking around back in ambush because you can't stand the one making the declaration!

Church there is great confusion right now but I believe this is a moment for the church to unite under God and raise up our voice as a trumpet blast to our Lord, the King of kings! Our God is good and He is for us! It is not the enemies time just yet. God spoke to me back in Feb. (I shared about it in March on my blog) about the shaking we were in. That God was using it as a time of sifting His light out of the darkness. He told me He was going to bring His church into unity as in the book of Acts and that an outpouring of the Spirit would follow. It is happening! Believers of all different denominations are coming together and linking arms like I have never seen before. Amish, Menonite, Jewish, Charismatics, etc... all in unity! It is amazing. I am asking you to join me in prayer and fasting today and tomorrow. Let your prayers be a cry unto the Lord and shout of victory! God is not done with our nation and we are about to see the greatest outpouring and move of Spirit ever in our lifetime. Don't miss it! God Bless America and God Bless our President, Donald J. Trump.

Anyone else need some encouragement this morning? 2 Chronicles 20!! I heard the other day from someone who studies out the bible in intensity that throughout the scripture there are repeating themes.
