Behold an even greater one is here

Matthew 12:38-42

38 Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee. 39 But he answered and said unto them, "An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas: 40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. 41 The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here. 42 The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here."

Jesus was even greater than Jonas and Solomon and all the great prophets of the past and yet the people rejected him and his message. I have often thought about how blessed people were then to actually hear the voice of the Lord and walk with him and truly know him. I have many times thought about how much stronger my belief would be if I got to be with him like the disciples were.

Do you know that right now in our midst there is one even greater than all the prophets and even Jesus. I know that sounds like blasphemy but look at the words of Jesus himself and understand who the Holy Spirit is.

John 14:24-29 24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me. 25 These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you. 26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. 27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. 28 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I. 29 And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe.

Matthew 12:31-32

31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. 32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

John 16:13-15

13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. 14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. 15 All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God. The Spirit that lived through Jesus, that rose Jesus from the dead and brought power upon the disciples to do the things Jesus did.

If you are a believer then you have the very Spirit of God living in you. Just think about this for a minute. How many times have you acknowledged the Spirit? How often do you talk to the Spirit, do you seek out relationship with the Holy Spirit of God living in you? Or do you hold God up as a distant figure you will one day meet and maybe he has some involvement in our life but its not a constant? Does your fruit match your answers to these questions?

Matthew 12:33-37

33 Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit. 34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. 35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. 36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. 37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

Your words are fruit. The words we post on FB, speak in the quiet of our thoughts, or out loud to a concerned friend. EVERY word you speak will justify or condemn you. This is huge. Even this morning I woke up with a bad back ache and guess what the first thing out of my mouth was? It was not the life giving word and acknowledgment of the same Spirit that rose Christ from the dead, the Spirit that gives life to our mortal bodies. Nope I cursed myself with my words of doubt, doubt that back pain must submit to the name of Jesus. That my body is a temple and that back pain may not reign in my temple unless I give it permission to. I will stand before my God and have to give account for my careless words. See it was not out of a heart full of the word that I allowed those words out of my mouth. It was out of a heart of flesh and circumstances that I spoke. As important as this is to understand we also cannot get into legalism over this. Constantly being condemned and trying to condemn others for words spoken but it is certainly a word to transform us.

How often I see believers post about their love for God and then the next 3 posts are not out of that heart of love and the Spirit of truth and God’s word but words of fear, circumstances, doubt and worry. My friends call themselves depressed, anxious, sick, hashimotos, lupus, blind as bats, POTS, vaccine injured, Celiacs, Diabetic, sad, brokenhearted, afraid, and so many other things. Stop doing that! You are not sickness, you are not disease. You are created in the image of a perfect God. God is not disease and neither are you. Disease may be a circumstance in your flesh but it is not who you are and when you speak that over yourself you are creating your own curse. Replace those words with truth. The truth is Romans 8: 1-18

1There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: 4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. 8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. 9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. 10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. 12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. 13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. 15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. 16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: 17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. 18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

The truth is 1 Peter 2:24

Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

The truth is John 14:12-14

12 Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.13 And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.

I can go on and on but the truth is 100% every time, scripture. If you confirm words of death or cursing you will remain in the curse and your words will condemn you before the Lord. You can visit every doctor and specialist under the sun and you will remain cursed until you acknowledge the Spirit of wisdom living in you and fill your heart with his words which are knowledge and understanding (Proverbs 2:6) You my friends have been set free and whom the Son sets free is free indeed (John 8:36)! You are blessed, blessed everywhere you go, in everything you do and everything you say. You are above and not beneath, head and not the tail, you are healed and made whole, forgiven and redeemed from every part of the curse (Deut. 28, Gal. 3:13)! Deut. 28 lists the curses Jesus became so that you would no longer be in bondage! Great is the Spirit of God abiding with and in us this day and everyday, every moment until the return of Christ! Lets not forget that there is an even great one here with us. You have not been left orphaned, his is with you and will not leave you nor forsake you (John 14:18, Hebrews 13:5). You are sons and daughters of the most high. Lift your heads and start proclaiming truth, life and every promise! It's already yours.

The Great Defender

Anyone else need some encouragement this morning? 2 Chronicles 20!! I heard the other day from someone who studies out the bible in intensity that throughout the scripture there are repeating themes.

A repeat of history?

There is an awesome story in 2 Chronicles 13 that I want to share with you. I just can't help but feel like it is a reflection of this moment we are currently living in. Sometimes it is almost painful
